The Hand/Upper Extremity and Trauma teams in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine were awarded a grant to help fund their multicenter prospective study on the treatment of proximal humerus fractures.  This grant was sponsored by the AAOS (American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons) in conjunction with the ASES (American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons) and was only awarded to two institutions in the country.

The OSMI welcomes Charles T. Price, M.D., a Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon, from Orlando, Florida. Dr. Price will be presenting a talk to faculty and residents entitled, "Bone Healing and Bone Density for Orthopedic Surgeons."

This one week seminar is an immersion experience in basic musculoskeletal pathology, correlated with radiographic and imaging staging techniques, histologic diagnosis, and principles of treatment covering the gamut of musculoskeletal lesions.
