Toby Harkins, BS, LAT, ATC

Toby Harkins joined UF Health Orthopaedics in 2013 and currently serves as the Athletic Training Outreach North Site Manager. His responsibilities include management of outreach athletic training staff and doctorate of athletic training residents. He spends part of his time working as a clinical athletic trainer in The Orthopaedic Sports Surgery Medicine clinic. He works as a supervising athletic trainer to high school resident athletic trainers at Hawthorne High School and Oak Hall School, and assists the UF UAA AT’s in coordination of their patient’s orthopedic health care.

Toby grew up in South Carolina and earned his Bachelor of Science in Sports Management from Erskine College and his Master’s of Arts from Furman University in Health and Exercise Science.

Toby is a nationally certified and licensed Athletic Trainer in the state of Florida. He is a member of the Athletic Training Association of Florida, Southeast Athletic Trainers Association, National Athletic Trainers Association, and Athletic Trainers in Physician Practice Society.

Toby has served as an ATC since 1998 and remains a passionate proponent of our field both in the general public and the medical community.  Before joining our team, Toby served in the collegiate setting as a Head Athletic Trainer for 15 years.  Toby serves on the Board of Certification BCS-O Specialty Committee.

Outside of his commitments, he enjoys training and teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and spending time with his wife Kelly, and two children, Sully and Paisley.
