Student Application for Orthopaedic Research
Hello, we are excited that you are interested in helping us with research in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. Student researchers who are invited to participate in our department’s research projects may be assigned a variety of research related tasks including but not limited to composing a review of literature, completing chart reviews, cleaning data, and potentially interacting with research subjects. Student researchers will often work most directly with the Clinical Research Coordinators (CRCs), Residents, and Fellows in their assigned division, however, interaction with the faculty is likely. Research volunteers’ levels of experience and noted availability will be evaluated to determine their level of involvement on a research project, especially when it comes to accessing patient data to complete chart reviews. Notably, the research staff does provide training and guidance on how to complete chart reviews and clean data as needed. Prior to beginning any research activities, student researchers must complete the required IRB registration and training.
