About Olivia Rooney
Olivia is currently acting as the Outreach Athletic Trainer for Gainesville High School while completing her Doctorate of Athletic Training degree at the University of Florida. Olivia previously acted as the Outreach Athletic Trainer for Hawthorne High School for the 2025-2026 school year. During her time with the Hornets, she was a member of the 2025 football state championship team. Her field of study at the university is teaching and leadership.
Olivia earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Health, Sociology, & Political Science from Mercer University in May 2023. She then attended the University of Virginia (UVA), where she received her Master of Athletic Training degree in May of 2025. During her time at UVA, she worked two semesters with local high schools and two semesters with Division I collegiate sports (Mercer Football & Virginia Women’s Lacrosse).
Currently, she lives in Gainesville, Florida, and has a senior cat named, Tux!
