The UF Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine recently had the privilege of presenting its research at the 2024 Annual Congress of the European Society of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (SECEC-ESSSE) in Munich, Germany. One of the biggest conferences for elbow and shoulder surgery worldwide, this remarkable event featured research presentations with a wide range of topics and concepts.

The team from the Hand and Upper Extremity Division included faculty Jay King, MD, Thomas Wright, MD and resident Kevin Hao, MD. They presented on multiple topics, with the majority focused on shoulder arthroplasty (including 4 oral presentations and 12 posters). Multiple other authors such as Jonathan Wright, MD and Kevin Farmer, MD, along with several orthopaedic fellows, residents and medical students, were included in this research from the University of Florida. The productive work of Clinical Research Coordinators in the Orthopaedic Research Division’s, Aimee Struk and Tyler LaMonica, allowed the completion of these exciting research projects.
