Some of the major concerns throughout the country with high school athletes are concussion, sudden cardiac arrest and external heat illness and UF Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine is offering educational protocol for coaches, administrators, and parents throughout North Central Florida to promote our Heat, Head, and Heart program.

On July 27th, 2024, our experienced professionals in the field of sports medicine and emergency response will help you be better prepared for these situations by educating those in attendance on the best practices for prevention and management of each of the 3 categories. Knowing what to do in each of these emergency situations is vital in making sure that each of the athletes competing are as safe as possible. You’ll learn valuable strategies to help reduce the risk of sports injuries.

There will also be a Feature Presentation after your complimentary lunch from Mark and Kym Hilinski and the Hilinski’s Hope Foundation. The H3H foundation was established in 2018 to honor their son Tyler and share his story – one that will make you laugh, cry, and allow you to connect students with mental health resources. H3H has helped colleges and universities save lives, eliminate stigma, and scale mental wellness programs for student athletes.

Finally, take part in a guided tour of the beautiful Heavener Football complex and training center at the University of Florida to wrap up the afternoon. Check-in for the symposium will begin at 8:30 in the Gator Room at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, with the program beginning at 9. The event will conclude around 2:30.
