About Joshua Reside
I have spent a lifetime playing sports and have always been interested in the complexity of the human body. During my medical training at the University of Florida, my interest deepened as I witnessed the transformative work of orthopaedic surgeons. Not only did they repair injuries and restore function for patients, but they also provided hope and enabled them to return to activities they love. This ignited my passion for orthopaedics, and I began my training in the field. The ability to merge my interest in anatomy, movement, and patient care in such a tangible way drives me every day.
My goal with each patient is to build a strong, empathetic connection that fosters trust and partnership. I believe healing is a collaborative journey. By working closely with my patients, we can make informed decisions together, ensuring their treatment plan is both effective and aligned with their personal goals. I aim to provide expert medical care while empowering my patients to be active participants in their recovery.
I want patients to know how deeply I care about their journey to health. A mentor in medical school once shared with me, Patients dont care how much you know until they know how much you care. I take this to heart by trying to remember my patients personally and by showing them Im truly invested in their well-being.
My favorite thing to do is spend time with my wife and newborn daughter. I also enjoy exercising and staying active by playing golf, skiing, and hiking. I love traveling and following Detroit and Michigan State University athletics. I met my wife, a pediatrician in the U.S. Navy, in medical school at UF, and we are happy to be returning home to our roots.

As a former laboratory clinician, I appreciated the time he took with me. He practiced what I like to call "haute couture" medicine. It was not "off-the-rack". He listened to me carefully about my history. He gave me options for treatment. He took time to educate me on x-ray and MRI scan. I know anatomy fairly well, so he showed me the abnormalities on the films and explained how my anatomy was a pain generator. He then laid out options, took other surgical needs I have into consideration so that surgery wouldn't be compromised by recovery from shoulder surgery. Explained what outcomes I might expect and the variables in each option, as well as recovery protocols. I was head, treated with respect and felt like an individual. I felt included in ther decision making as a partner.

Dr. Reside explained the surgery, expected recovery and outcomes very well. I felt fully informed and prepared. Surgery went smoothly. Recovery was a little bumpy, but not any ones fault, Dr. Reside and staff were helpful to get over the bumps and am looking forward to a total recovery. I would recommend him highly!

After a previous bad experience at a different Orthopedic, we finally have answers, were shown beautiful imaging to support the diagnosis and we were given careful treatment options. Although my daughter is not healed because this is a growth and overuse issue, we understand her ailment better and can treat it as needed.

I love this office. I drive an hour and 30 minutes. That’s how much I like it. The only negative is there phone service? It is absolutely horrible. I’ve been fighting for the correction of dose of my medication and every phone call went nowhere. Oh will fix it or they transferred me to another place saying oh this is Gainesville or we’re gonna fix it. No, that’s what the doctor said. No it’s not what the doctor said. I need 200 mg of this prescription so I can physically move six months it took to correct. I’ve been living in pain until finally I said I was gonna file a complaint on their phone service.
