Drs. Gibbs, Scarborough, Spiguel, and Reith and presented an educational symposium on Bone Tumors, “Symposio De Tumores Osseos Enneking”, in Rio De Janeiro, August 24-26, 2023.

Andre Spiguel, MD, earned his medical degree at the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine in 2006 before going on to complete his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Chicago Medical Center and his fellowships in Musculoskeletal Oncology and Orthopaedic Trauma at the University of Chicago Medical Center and Washington University respectively.

Mark T. Scarborough, MD, earned his medical degree at the University of Florida in 1985 before going on to complete his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch and his fellowship in Orthopaedic Oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Boston Children's Hospital.

C. Parker Gibbs, MD earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and his medical degree from the University of Florida in 1989 before going on to complete his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Colorado and his fellowships in Orthopaedic Oncology and Research at the University of Chicago.

The UF Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine Orthopaedic Oncologists Andre Spiguel, MD, C. Parker Gibbs, MD, and Mark Scarborough, MD, were part of the research team that was awarded the 2023 Kappa Delta Ann Doner Vaughan Award by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS).

UF Orthopaedics was awarded funding from the OMeGA Medical Grants Association for the 2021-22 year.  Three of our Fellowship Programs received funding that will enhance the educational and research experience during the Fellows’ extensive hands-on surgical training:

University of Florida Orthopaedic Oncologist C. Parker Gibbs Jr., M.D., was named chief medical officer for UF Health Shands, effective October 31, 2016.

Dr. Mark Scarborough, MD, has been recognized by Orthopedics This Week as one of the top 13 U.S Orthopaedic Oncologists.

Dr. Mark Scarborough and Dr. Tom Wright were recently published in the Spring 2012 issue of House Calls. This publication is distributed by the Alachua County Medical Society.Dr Scaborough's article is entitled, "Orthopaedic Oncology."Dr Wright's article is entitled, "Total Shoulder Arthroplasty."
