Very personable, great listener, and he accepted respect for wrapping my leg too tightly after surgery, causing ischemia. My foot turned purple.

February 18, 2026
I had 32 surgeries before I got to this clinic. Most were debridements of a chronic Osteomyelitis that was threatening to finally take my leg at the hip, a procedure that would most likely make it so I would never again walk. My body was tired and recovery was getting harder with each surgery. I was ready to give up. Not only did the two surgeries I had done through your clinic remove all the signs of the infection I am able to walk and my skin has healed over so I can enjoy things like swimming and such without the constant worry about my bandages and drainage.

I am most grateful to have access to the expert care and service provided by Ortho at Shands to care for my complex fracture. Everyone from surgeon and anesthesia to residents and cast techs seem to love what they do and work hard.

Dr. Talerico is our surgeon. He called to let us know that everything went well. He had the same degree of caring at every appointment. At our last appointment on June 25 he told him that his leg had healed well and that Tim could do anything he wanted to do, and that he didn't need to come back unless he needed him. We really like him. Our experience is that. U F Health Care has really fantastic people! Thanks!
