He completed his completed residency training in podiatric surgery at Kern Hospital for Special Surgery in Warren, Michigan. Dr. Merendino joined the faculty of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine at the University of Florida in November 2019. He has received a resource innovation award from the Michener Institute for advancement in podiatric surgical education and served as a council member of the College of Chiropody of Ontario. Dr. Merendino initiated and helped coordinate the expansion of the residency program at the Hollywood Medical Center in Hollywood, FL and has also given numerous lectures on podiatric treatment.
