About Manuel Britto

My name is Manuel Britto, MD, and I am a primary care sports medicine physician in the University of Florida Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine.

I received a Bachelor of Science in microbiology and cell science from UF in Gainesville. Following that, I received my medical degree from the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa. I completed my family medicine residency at Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, Florida, and a fellowship in primary care sports medicine at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell in Plainview, New York.

My clinical interests include treating tendonitis and sprains. I also utilize various treatment and diagnostic methods, including ultrasound, rehabilitation exercises and orthobiologic therapies. Orthobiologic therapies are often used as part of regenerative medicine approaches to treat musculoskeletal injuries and conditions such as bone fractures, cartilage injuries, tendon and ligament injuries and osteoarthritis.

As a sports medicine physician, my goal is to help others by improving their function and overall health. I strive to help people stay active in their lives regardless of their background. From athletes to the general population, I will try my best to get the outcome you desire.

All of my patients should know that I believe in a holistic approach to helping patients reach their goals, considering every aspect of medicine, nutrition and rehabilitation.

Other than practicing medicine, basketball is a great passion of mine. It helps me stay active and feel young. Likewise, I want to help my patients find happiness through movement, whether it be shooting hoops or chasing their grandkids!
