About Jessica McQuerry
My name is Dr. Jessica L. McQuerry. I attended University of Kentucky College of Medicine in Lexington, KY to get my medical degree. I then completed an internship and residency training in orthopaedic surgery at University of Kentucky. Following that I completed a pediatric orthopedic/spine fellowship at Vanderbilt University.
I was inspired to become a doctor because I get to help children reach their full mobility potential and truly see miracles happen every day. Our interventions have the ability to help children and teenagers be their best selves and correct differences they may have been born with or that developed along that way that impact their ability to function. I love treating a wide variety of patients including those with scoliosis, cerebral palsy, hip dysplasia, clubfoot and other extremity malalignments and high-level athletes with debilitating injuries. It is the most rewarding profession I can imagine.
I joined the faculty of the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at the University of Florida in September 2020. My clinical interests include all pediatric orthopedic conditions, limb deformities, scoliosis, and scoliosis surgery in children.
I have been credited in several publications regarding quality of life and subjective function in children after amputation as well as thigh compartment syndrome. I have presented at numerous conferences and received several awards including the Ray Neff M.D. Memorial (Senior Resident) Award at the University of Kentucky as well as the ACPOC New Investigator Research Award in 2017.
I am currently an active member of Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America (POSNA), Scoliosis Research Society (SRS), Florida Orthopedic Society (FOS) and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). I am also an active member of Pediatric Spine Study Group (PSSG) - a national research group of spine surgeons committed to developing and investigating the best treatment of children with scoliosis. I have many active research projects in pediatric orthopedics and is constantly investigating current and new treatments in order to provide the best care for my patients. I am also an active member of scoliosis research society. I want to improve care for pediatric orthopedic patients in the future by adding to our current knowledge about these conditions and the best surgical approaches and treatments. One of my primary goals is to treat the whole patient and not just the condition. I have a lifelong goal of truly listening to my patients and their families concerns to help them improve their lives through considering the whole person when deciding on interventions. I strive to improve as a person and as a physician every day.
When I am enjoying time outside of work I am usually doing something outdoors. I enjoy living an active lifestyle running, cycling, triathlons and spending time with my husband and children.

The staff we encountered during this visit were exceptional! From the girl the first came in the room to exam Sofi, the doctor, to the physical therapist we saw before leaving, all 3 went above and beyond. I was so impressed with all of them.

Dr McQueery is such an amazing person and has great bedside manner. She gave us easy to understand information about our sons condition. She explained potential outcomes and what surgery would be like if it ever came to that. But above all of that, she seemed to care and was willing to entertain our questions to help us feel better about our sons issue. Huge thanks and that is why UF Health is truly the best! They hire the best and brightest and Dr McQueery is a shining example of those qualities
