Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

• Identify the modern criteria that define an unstable scaphoid fracture.
• List and differentiate the relative advantages and disadvantages of the various techniques used to stabilize acute scaphoid fractures, including ORIF, percutaneous fixation, and arthroscopic assisted fixation.
• List and differentiate the relative advantages and disadvantages of the various techniques used to stabilize stable subacute fractures and delayed unions of the scaphoid with cystic resorption.
