About Alejandro Sanoja

Dr. Sanoja is excited to join the University of Florida Department of Emergency Medicine team. His role includes an appointment with the Department of Orthopedics, Sports Division, where he will provide care at the World Equestrian Center.

He completed medical school at the University of Arizona in 2021, Emergency Medicine residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center—Miami Beach in 2024, and Sports Medicine fellowship at University of Florida in 2025.

During training, he was elected Chief Resident and awarded “Teaching Resident of the Year” designation for his effort in teaching ultrasound applications and procedures. His academic interests include diagnostic and procedural ultrasound, care of the athlete and sports coverage, orthopedic-related trauma, and medical education. He is passionate about mentorship and providing opportunities to the next generation of healthcare professionals. Outside of work, he can be found playing pick-up basketball, trying new food and drink places, or enjoying some family time.

He looks forward to serving the Gainesville community and discovering what place makes the best biscuit in Gator Country.
