UF Ortho Hand and Upper Extremity Division presents research at ICSES 2023

The UF Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine recently had the privilege of presenting its research (6 oral presentations and over 20 poster presentations) at the 2023 International Congress of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (ICSES), the world’s largest meeting focused on research in shoulder and elbow surgery. The meeting was held in Rome, Italy from September 5th to 8th with around 2000 surgeons in attendance from around the globe. Two attendings (Jay King, MD and Jon Wright, MD), two residents (Lacie Turnbull, MD and Keegan Hones, MD), and two medical students (Kevin Hao and Robert Cueto) were sent to represent the University of Florida at the meeting. Several other faculty, residents, research assistants, and students contributed to the research efforts presented at this meeting including Kevin Farmer, MD, Thomas Wright, MD, Ryan Roach, MD, Matthew Patrick, MD, Aimee Struk MEd, MBA, ATC, Marissa Pazik, MS, LAT, ATC, CSCS, and Tyler LaMonica, MS, ATC.

The research presented was on multiple shoulder and elbow topics including shoulder arthroplasty, shoulder trauma, and shoulder and elbow sports medicine. The meeting included cutting-edge research on shoulder and elbow topics from researchers from around the world. The UF Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine was happy to be a part of this significant meeting and to contribute to advancing knowledge in shoulder and elbow surgery.
