UF Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine faculty, fellows, and residents attended the Florida Orthopaedic Society (FOS) Annual Scientific Meeting. The FOS was founded in an effort to raise the standards of orthopaedic practices by providing ongoing education, networking, recognition, and certification.

A special edition of Technique in Orthopaedics is now in print. This edition represents an extensive collaboration between the departments of Anesthesiology and Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Florida.
Drs. Kalia Sadasivan and Heather Vincent (Co-PIs) obtained a research award for: An Integrated-Delivery-of-Care-Approach to Improve Patient Outcomes, Safety, Well-Being After Orthopaedic Trauma. This collaborative project combines expertise from faculty and staff from research (Drs. Horodyski, Vasilopoulos and LA Zdziarski, J McClelland) and clinical psychiatry (Dr. R.
Laura Ann Zdziarski, ATC, received a research grant from the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) in late June of 2015, to support her doctoral research in the Rehabilitation Sceince Doctoral (RSD) Program entitled “Incorporating athletic trainers into an orthopaedic trauma care team to improve patient’s functional and emotional profile.” Laura Ann will be completing her dissertation work in 2016-2017. Academic faculty mentors include Dr.
UF Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Institute physican, Dr. Kal Sadasivan, MD, has been selected as a 2014 UFHealth Physician Customer Service Award winner. Dr. Sadasivan was nominated from one of his patients, and was selected for the award from well over 100 nominations. A recognition luncheon for all winners and nominees will be held on April 11, 2014 and hosted by UF College of Medicine Dean, Dr. Michael Good, MD.
