The University of Florida Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine proudly announces that MaryBeth Horodyski, EdD, LAT, ATC, FNATA, FNAP, has been elected as the next President of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Research and Education Foundation (NATA Foundation). She will officially assume office in June 2025.
Dr. Horodyski, a highly respected leader in the field of athletic training, currently serves as the Director of Research for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine at the UF College of Medicine. With more than three decades of experience in clinical research, education, and advocacy, she has significantly advanced the profession through her contributions to evidence-based practices and interdisciplinary collaboration.
The NATA Foundation is the leading nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the athletic training profession through research and scholarship. As President, Dr. Horodyski will help guide strategic initiatives that fund research, support educational programs, and promote innovation to enhance patient care and safety across sports medicine and athletic training disciplines.

Dr. Horodyski has been a longstanding advocate for improving care through research and mentorship and has received numerous accolades throughout her distinguished career, including the NATA Hall of Fame and NATA fellowship status, and a distinguished fellow of the National Academies of Practice.
