Dr. Heather Vincent, Trevor Leavitt, Cong Chen and Joseph Wasser worked with the Atlanta Blaze Major League Lacrosse (MLL) team in Atlanta on May 13, 2016. The research team worked with players to develop the first ever on-the-field motion assessment of shooting and throwing motion in different player positions. This pro team and the UF Sports Performance Center are creating new trails in the area of lacrosse science.

The UF Sports Performance Center proudly hosted the Thompson Brothers Lacrosse Program on August 12, 2014. Miles, Lyle, Jeremy and Jerome Thompson, Bill O'Brien and Hunter Hemlock all participated in lacrosse throwing analysis and other measures to help the scientists better understand the mechanics of this growing sport.  Players represented national, professional and collegiate lacrosse programs (Rochester Rattlers, Iroquois Nationals, Albany Great Danes).
