About Ryan Murphy
Ryan is currently serving as an Outreach Athletic Trainer for Buchholz High School while pursuing a Doctorate of Athletic Training degree with a concentration of sports performance at the University of Florida.
The Erie, Pennsylvania native earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2014. In 2016, he received a Master of Athletic Training degree from Gannon University. During his time at Gannon, he gained clinical experiences with local high schools and NCAA Division II football, men's soccer, and water polo. After completing his master's, he interned at Southern Wesleyan University, an NCAA Division II school in Central, South Carolina. While at Southern Wesleyan, his primary responsibilities were baseball, men's and women's soccer, and basketball while also sharing responsibilities for eighteen total sports.
He worked at Benchmark Physical Therapy. While with the company, he worked with the Knoxville Icebears (professional hockey) and both Meigs County High School and Cleveland Middle School in East Tennessee.
Prior to enrolling at the University of Florida He spent the last 5 years working at Tennessee Wesleyan University, an NAIA school in Athens, Tennessee. While at Tennessee Wesleyan, his primary responsibilities were baseball, men's soccer, men's and women's tennis, and men's track and field. He also taught classes in the Health and Human Performance Department at TWU.
He is a Strength and Conditioning Certified Specialist (CSCS) and holds a certification in Técnica Gavilán IASTM, and Corrective Exercise Specialization. He has also earned a certificate in Integrative Dry Needling.
He currently lives in Gainesville with his dog, Miller.
