The OSMI welcomes Steve Ghivizzani, PhD, from the Gene Therapy Laboratory at the University of Florida.  Dr. Ghivizzani, will be presenting a talk to faculty and residents entitled, "Gene Therapy for Orthopaedics and Cancer."

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Define and Describe the principles of gene-based drug delivery for treatment of musculoskeletal disorders.
  • Distinguish approaches for targeting therapeutic genes selectively to metastatic tumors and diseased tissues.
  • Recognize the pharmacology of gene-based therapies for osteoarthritis and chronic joint disease.
