Dr. Linda Suleiman, an Arthroplasty Surgeon and Director of Diversity and Inclusion/ Assistant Dean of Medical Education at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University, visited UF Health at the invitation of the Division of Adult Arthroplasty and Joint Reconstruction. Over two days, she educated the faculty and trainees on:
- “Bias in Medical Education: Strategies and Solutions”
- “Social determinants of Health in Arthroplasty”
There was engaging discussion related to these two very important and timely topics between Dr. Suleiman, faculty from across the department, and our trainees. Forums such as these foster awareness (and improvements) of these deficits in healthcare and reflect the commitment of the Arthroplasty Division and the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine in actively leading progressive improvements in Healthcare throughout our community and the region.
