 CJR: Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement Model series for the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)

 

Dr. Justin Deen and Dr. Chance Gray from the UF Orthopaedics Joint Division presented a webinar as part of the CJR: Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement Model series for the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) on February 27, 2020.  The topic, "Pain Management and the CJR Model: Opioid Reduction and Mitigation Strategies," was a 2-hour webinar focused on their pain management strategies and included key strategies for reducing opioid use among CJR patients:

  • Identify strategies used by CJR participant hospitals to manage patients’ pain; 
  • Recognize strategies used by CJR participant hospitals to reduce opioid use
  • Understand the outcomes of an opioid mitigation program.

After the presentation, attendees were provided the opportunity to ask questions and share their experiences with opioid mitigation.
