Dr. Jason Zaremski, co-director of the University of Florida Sports Medicine Outreach Program at the UF Health Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Institute, chats with WCJB-TV20 regarding the new Florida High School Pitch Counts Regulations and new research.
From the article:
"Within the last 20 years, overuse throwing injuries amongst young and professional baseball players has increased. Jason Zaremski, a Sports Medicine Physician at UF hopes data from his study will help prevent these potential career-ending injuries.
'Most recently there's been a change from innings restrictions to pitch restrictions, because we found innings restrictions aren't a good marker of rest and use,' Zaremski said."
