
Profile Information
Brad Drake is a Certified Athletic Trainer who recently joined UF Health in August of 2020. He is a physician extender and supervisor for athletic trainers currently enrolled in the UF Doctorate of Athletic Training Program who provide medical coverage for local high schools.
Prior to joining UF Health he spent the last ten years serving as the Associate AD for Medical Services at Charleston Southern University in Charleston, South Carolina. During his tenure he served as the Head Athletic Trainer for Football and Men’s and Women’s Golf, Insurance Coordinator, and Drug Testing Coordinator. He also directed the medical coverage for 16 NCAA division one athletic teams and supervised a staff of 11 ATs.
Previous to his time at Charleston Southern he served as the Head Athletic Trainer for James F. Byrnes High School in Duncan, South Carolina. During that time he was selected to serve as the athletic trainer to represent the North in the 2006 North / South All Star Football Game in Myrtle Beach.
Brad is originally from Greenville, SC and is a 1996 graduate of Presbyterian College. In 1999 he earned a Master of Arts Degree in Health and Exercise Science from Furman University. After receiving his Masters, he participated in a summer athletic training internship with the Carolina Panthers and continued to assist the Panthers with all home football games in Charlotte the next two seasons.
Brad is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and recently completed his term as President of the South Carolina Athletic Trainers’ Association from 2018-2020.
