Track-It! User Tutorial

Objective:

This tutorial is written to give instructions for users to enter and track help desk requests in the web based Track-It! ticket system.

Audience:

The intended audience of this tutorial is all employees in the UF Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation.

Instructions:

  1. In Internet Explorer, go to the myOrtho Intranet at my.ortho.ufl.edu.

  2. Click on Track-It! Helpdeskon the top menu bar to open Track-It. A new Internet Explorer window will be displayed. Before loading the following login box will appear.

  3. In “User name:” field enter your FULL Ortho e-mail address, including the “@ortho.ufl.edu” part. (e.g. xxxxxxx@ortho.ufl.edu).

  4. In the "Password:" field enter your normal Ortho logon password.

  5. Click the OK Buttonbutton. The Track-It! Web help desk screen will load in an Internet Explorer window.

  6. Click the OK Buttonbutton on the top blue navigation bar to access the work order system. Here you will see a list of any open work orders you currently have in the system.

  7. You can click on the Closed Buttontab to see previous work orders which have already been closed.

  8. To open a new Help Desk work order, click on the Add Work Order Buttonbutton in the far left column. This will bring up the Work Order Request page.

  9. Please fill out this form as completely as possible, choosing the most appropriate Type of problem and including a detailed description of the problem or request. When you are satisfied with the description of your request, click the Submit Buttonbutton to generate a work order.

  10. Back on the main Help Desk page, if you click on the work order number in your list of open work orders, you can see a complete description of your work order. The technician will often put comments in the "Resolution" field to show progress made on your request so far. You should view these comments to see what work has been done on your work order.
